Fender repairs, dolphins replaced at Hong Kong's typhoon she
FENDER repairs and replacements for 16 dolphins will be carried out in the new Yau Ma Tei typhoon shelter over the next five months, says the Hong Kong Marine Department.
The works will be carried out by one vessel fitted with a crane and only one dolphin will be engaged in the works at a time, the department said.
The works will be carried out from 0700 hrs to 1900 hrs. There will be no work carried out on Sundays and public holidays and the vessel engaged in the works will stay close to a dolphin outside the hours of works.
The vessel engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution, the department warned.
